Passing your motorcycle test has changed from the days when you were able to simply show you could ride around the block, use your brakes successfully with an emergency stop and you’d pass if you didn’t fall off. And understandably so! Riders should be well-equipped to take on a variety of road situations, but it shouldn’t mean they are unable to ride the bike of their dreams.

Now, if you pass your motorcycle test but you’re aged between 19-24, then you’re restricted to riding a bike with a power output of no more than 35kW (47bhp) - but there’s no need to settle for a bike that you don’t really want and blend in with the crowd.

Did you know, you can choose from nine Indian Motorcycle models to ride on your A2 licence?

Let’s take a look at some of the choices below…

    Indian Scout

A name that goes back a century, the Indian Scout is where heritage-inspired design meets modern performance. It was right back in 1920 when Indian Motorcycle released the first Indian Scout - a clean-sheet design and a bold departure from earlier model concepts. This fast, reliable, manoeuvrable bike enticed many people to start riding and was a runaway success - and still is to this day. Available in two engine sizes, there are eight A2 models to choose from.
    Indian Scout Sixty

With the introduction of the all-new 2025 Indian Scout and the 1250 SpeedPlus engine, the foundations were laid to reintroduce the Scout Sixty with a 999cc to the UK lineup. Drawn to its iconic design, over 90% of Scout buyers are new to the brand, and with its lightweight, nimble handling and low seat height, nearly a quarter of all Indian Scout buyers are new to riding. The new Scout Sixty expands that reach by offering its timeless American style and legendary combination of balance and control at a more attainable price point.

Featuring three models - all available in A2 specification - the 2026 Scout Sixty lineup features universal accessibility, iconic American design, and a legendary balance of power and control.

    SPORT SCOUT SIXTY
NEW for 2026, the Sport Scout Sixty adds a more aggressive and sporty choice alongside the Scout Sixty Bobber and Scout Sixty Classic.

Sport Scout Sixty’s Mini Ape Handlebars and integrated risers improve reach and control for more sporty riding. The sport-style seat provides riders with more comfort and allows them to ride longer, without compromising the bike’s sleek style. A Quarter Fairing provides wind protection while adding a stylish, custom look straight from the factory. Finishing off the Sport Scout Sixty is a 19-inch front wheel – adding style and delivering agile handling.

    SCOUT SIXTY BOBBER
Stripped down with an aggressive stance and class-leading low seat height, the Scout Sixty Bobber is the perfect expression of iconic bobber style. Blacked out with a black headlight bucket, the Scout Sixty Bobber reinforces a minimalist bobber aesthetic – featuring a solo bobber-style seat, slammed 51 mm suspension, and 16-inch, five-spoke wheels.

    SCOUT SIXTY CLASSIC
Featuring heritage-inspired design, the Scout Sixty Classic offers premium chrome, classic Indian Motorcycle flared fenders, and flawless paint. Relaxed ergonomics, a low seat height, and 16-inch cast wheels deliver an easy, confident ride at every speed.

For all three models, a class-leading low seat height delivers a confidence-inspiring ride for motorcyclists of all sizes and experience levels, while a low centre of gravity gives the bike a lightweight feel off the kickstand and exceptional low-speed manoeuvrability. Standard across the entire lineup are mid controls – keeping riders’ feet planted firmly below for easier riding and better control. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is standard, while Traction Control and Ride Modes are available on Limited trims and optional on Standard trim levels. Like other Indian Motorcycle models, Scout Sixty’s ride modes (Sport, Standard, Rain) provide three distinct throttle responses to suit diverse riding styles and different road conditions.

Powering the Indian Scout Sixty lineup is a completely redesigned SpeedPlus 999cc engine. The smaller, liquid-cooled engine and five-speed transmission offer a more approachable powertrain for riders of all levels.
    Indian Scout 1250

Developed from extensive rider research and insights, the Indian Scout offers confidence-inspiring performance, usable technology, and class-leading rider amenities. Featuring the industry’s lowest seat height just like the Scout Sixty, the Indian Scout delivers a confident riding position, as well as sporty and stable handling. ABS across the entire lineup instils rider confidence and increases braking ability, while Traction Control and Ride Modes on select models offer a tailored riding experience at the touch of a button.

At the heart of the all-new Indian Scout is a completely redesigned 1250cc liquid-cooled, V-Twin engine – the SpeedPlus 1250. Each Indian Scout offers crisp acceleration and superior passing power. Electronic fuel injection provides consistent fuelling for smooth throttle response, while a responsive six-speed transmission keeps all the power easily within reach for sporty riding.

To evolve an American icon like the Indian Scout, Indian Motorcycle focused its efforts on three areas. First and foremost, the new Scout must uphold its legendary design DNA. Unanimously, riders love the look and style of the Indian Scout. Next, Indian Motorcycle engineered the lineup to meet the needs of its diverse group of riders. Lightweight and a low seat height of 680 mm offer nimble handling and inspire rider confidence. The third priority when engineering the all-new Indian Scout was technology. While rider-centric technology wasn’t a priority for riders 10 years ago, it is today. The new 2026 model year lineup offers a variety of technology packages – providing riders with a wide price range and the opportunity to select a ride with the industry’s most cutting-edge technology.

Five models in the new Indian Scout 1250 lineup are available in A2 specification.

    SCOUT BOBBER 1250
Stripped down with an aggressive stance and raw power, the Scout Bobber is the perfect expression of iconic bobber style. Blacked out front to back with chopped bobber fenders and headlight nacelle, it leans hard into a mean bobber vibe. A solo bobber-style seat reinforces a minimalist bobber aesthetic—without trading comfort—and firmly plants riders in control under hard acceleration. Slammed 51 mm suspension creates a low stance for an aggressive, custom look. Bar-end mirrors give the bike a cut-down and clean look with improved visibility.

    SCOUT CLASSIC 1250
The Scout Classic is where heritage-inspired design meets the needs of today’s American cruiser rider. Premium chrome, classic Indian Motorcycle flared fenders, and flawless paint will turn heads at every intersection. Wire wheels add to the timeless, authentic style. A low seat height and relaxed ergonomics make for an easy, confident ride at every speed, whether commuting or going on a weekend trip.

    SPORT SCOUT 1250
Inspired by history but redesigned for the style of today, the Sport Scout's stylish gloss black 150 mm moto style risers with machine highlights come standard.
Machined triples and moto handlebars complete the package, both in custom looks and dialled ergonomics that fit its menacing style with improved reach and control for aggressive riding. The sport-style seat provides riders with more back support and comfort to ride longer and harder, without compromising the bike’s sleek style. The quarter fairing gives the Sport Scout a stylish and custom look straight from the factory, while also providing protection from the wind. The 19-inch front wheel adds to the aggressive nature of the Sport Scout – both in style and agile handling.

    SPORT SCOUT RT 1250
NEW for 2026, Indian Motorcycle has introduced Sport Scout RT – featuring a modern design and adding a more aggressive and capable spirit to the Scout lineup. Locking Rigid Saddlebags offer over 37 litres of weatherproof storage and are capable of fitting an entire set of riding gear, including boots, trousers, a jacket and gloves. Whether commuting, cruising, or on a weekend getaway, the top-down design is incredibly convenient and maximises cargo capacity.

    SUPER SCOUT 1250
When the goal is to hit the open road, riders must ensure no corners are cut or details overlooked. Built for any type of riding, saddlebags, wire wheels, windshield, and passenger pillion all come standard. Super Scout’s saddlebags allow riders to effortlessly carry essentials and offer simple ease of use with a quick pull tab. The quick-release windshield comes off in seconds for a different look, while its 76 mm of suspension travel increases comfort to ride longer and farther. Premium chrome finishes and flawless paint add to the timeless styling born from the Indian Scout’s heritage.

But that’s not where the choice ends…

Not a fan of cruisers - what about the Indian FTR?
    Indian FTR

The FTR is a highly innovative model inspired by Indian Motorcycle’s long history of successful flat track racing and takes styling cues from the championship-winning FTR750 race bike. The result is a truly unique American motorcycle - there’s nothing else quite like it. So, if you’re looking for something totally different to stand out from the crowd, the FTR is the bike for you, and as Indian Motorcycle’s most-customisable platform to date, with an almost endless combination of stylish and practical options from a vast array of accessories, modifying the overall look and feel based on your unique taste and style has never been easier.

Experience an exhilarating riding experience from the progressive, predictable power delivery and flexible low-end punch of the liquid-cooled 1,203cc V-Twin allied to a perfect balance of comfort, control and agility. Riding the FTR from the ProTaper flat tracker handlebars, a commanding, upright riding position means you get precise cornering and manoeuvrability, whether you're commuting, slicing through the city, or escaping to the countryside.

Built around a trellis frame with long-travel inverted front suspension,  the fuel tank is strategically located under the seat for a lower centre of gravity, centralising weight distribution for greater agility and slow-speed stability. The rubber meets the road through Metzler Sportec tyres, and impressive, confidence-inspiring stopping power is delivered from the radially mounted dual Brembo ABS brakes for exceptional control.

Not only that, but for even more rider comfort, the FTR comes as standard with cruise control and a USB port to charge your phone or other devices while on the move.

Grab life by the handlebars. The FTR will make every hour in the saddle worth making time for.

There’s a full range of accessories available too - whether you’re a fan of carbon fibre or want to spec out your bike for a weekend away, there’s plenty to choose from!
