IMRG Prague drop in on Indian Motorcycle Edinburgh
Indian Motorcycle Edinburgh had a surprise visit from 20 members of IMRG Prague who had ridden over from the Czech Republic on 14 Indian Motorcycles for their Scottish Expedition 2022.
“It’s really hard to sum up what an awesome day it was instore and the feeling we got while chatting to riders touring our beautiful country. The Czech riders were so lovely and enthusiastic about the whole IMR/IMRG side of things, it was nice seeing them take so much pride in their mileage patches, the countries visited, the years with the group, not to mention the Indian Motorcycle brand itself.”
After a four day ride from the Czech Republic up to Scotland, 14 bikes from IMRG Prague rolled into Indian Motorcycle Edinburgh on a surprise visit. With the dealership staff jumping into action to make sure there was enough room for parking, and despite the language barrier, soon everyone was making the most of such an amazing surprise.
“Unfortunately, very few spoke English and, of course, our Czech is non-existent. That being said, it never stopped us from having a great laugh. With there being so many, it was hard to take your time as the guys and girls were so excited to see such a large dealership. They had so many questions regarding the custom builds we have sitting around the shop and the classic corner with various vintage bikes, some had even owned the same classic models,” said Levi, who is also the Vice President of the local Alba Riders IMRG.
While swapping stories, advice and the local riders suggesting routes and places to see and stop, the visiting riders took advantage of the IMR discount at Indian Motorcycle Edinburgh to buy gloves, hoodies, pin badges and some gifts for family and friends back home. In return, they presented the dealership with their special Scottish Expedition 2022 T-Shirt.

After two hours with Indian Motorcycle Edinburgh, the riders from IMRG Prague headed to their city centre accommodation at Castle Apartments, which, as the name suggests, has the impressive Edinburgh Castle right on its doorstep. As part of the Scottish Expedition, they planned to smash out a large chunk of the North West 500, the iconic coastal route that explores the Scottish Highlands, while some also planned to split off to head further South.
Has the visit inspired Levi to organise a return trip to Prague?
“I was hoping to get over to the Indian Riders Fest over in the Czech Republic this year, but with everyone looking to get back to biking and normality after the lockdowns it has been one of our busiest seasons in years. It’s been amazing seeing people travelling and touring again and really getting into it. That being said some of our IMRG folks have spoken about doing a long haul run, and as always we UK riders normally like to get closer to the Equator for the sun, so I wouldn’t rule it out.”
Echoing his earlier comments, Levi sums it up perfectly, “You can pull up to a biker café, pub, landmark or even petrol station and everyone wants to chat about your bike or where you have ridden from. Suddenly you’re laughing and telling tales of your biking adventures over the years. No matter where you go in the world, or what language you speak, you always know there is a brother/sisterhood within the two wheel community. It really amazes me every time.”
