Celebrating 30 years of Krazy Horse
Krazy Horse is celebrating 30 years at the forefront of custom motorcycle culture with a series of high-profile displays showcasing their most iconic bikes. Marking this milestone, the brand is making a statement at the UK’s premier motorcycling and automotive events. First, Krazy Horse is exhibiting at the renowned Bike Shed Show (May 24-25), where visitors can admire a curated selection of their most distinctive builds—machines that have helped shape the custom scene over the past three decades, including Guy Martin’s record breaking Wall of Death Indian Scout, plus the FTR and Scout Hooligan racers that brought the Indian Motorcycle V-Twin thunder to the UK Flat Track scene. Krazy Horse will continue the summer fun in Margate at The 101 Run presented by DiCE magazine (July 17-20), a show designed to bring everyone together for a laugh and to see friends amongst awesome motorcycles. From there, they’ll head to the legendary Goodwood Revival (September 12-14), bringing their unique blend of craftsmanship and attitude to an event celebrating iconic cars, motorcycles and fashion on one of motorsport’s most prestigious stages.
Between these landmark events, Krazy Horse is offering fans an up-close experience at their flagship Indian Motorcycle London store in Kensington, where the celebration continues with rotating bike displays and celebrations. The Kensington space will serve as a hub of heritage and innovation, giving enthusiasts the chance to explore the brand’s history and future in one place. With 30 years of rebellious creativity behind them, Krazy Horse isn’t just looking back—they’re riding full throttle into the next chapter.
From a Shed to a Thriving Empire: The Story of Krazy Horse
Few names resonate with the same mix of passion, grit, and rebellion in the UK motorcycle world as Krazy Horse. What began as a small, specialist parts supplier has grown into a multi-faceted powerhouse in the American motorcycle and performance vehicle scene. Today, Krazy Horse is not just a dealer—it’s a destination. A flagship Indian Motorcycle dealer, custom bike builder, and cultural hub.
The Birth of a Passion Project
The Krazy Horse story starts in 1995 with founder Paul Beamish, a self-taught mechanic and custom bike enthusiast. Inspired by the early editions of Easyriders Magazine, Paul and his friend, Steve, built an authentic American chopper complete with flamed paint job. A huge hit at bike shows in the UK and Europe, the chopper led to many questions about where Paul had been able to source the parts.
This tallied with his own frustration at the lack of availability of parts and support for American bikes and custom builds in the UK. Beamish saw an opportunity to begin importing and selling parts from his shed. What started as a side hustle quickly became a word-of-mouth success, attracting like-minded bikers and builders looking for something different, something they just couldn’t get from mainstream motorcycle dealers.
Quickly, Krazy Horse gained a reputation not just for its parts, quality and expertise but for its attitude. It wasn’t trying to be a traditional dealership or mechanic—it was a culture.
Evolution into Customer Builds
While trading parts, Krazy Horse were still building bikes for themselves and some friends, but with growing demand across the UK and European scene, it was a natural expansion into custom bike building for customers. Crafting bespoke machines that blurred the line between art and engineering, from low-slung choppers to drag-style beasts and stripped-down café racers. The brand quickly made its mark on the custom scene, known for a fearless approach to design and uncompromising craftsmanship.
Their custom work caught the eye of not just riders, but manufacturers and industry insiders. Krazy Horse was no longer just a parts supplier; it had become a full-fledged builder and lifestyle brand.
Expansion
Having already moved from the garden shed to premises in Looms Lane in Bury St Edmunds, it wasn’t long before Krazy Horse needed more space. A move to Empire House in Bury makes it possible for Krazy Horse to become the destination for petrolheads that Paul had always dreamt of, adding a café to the thriving parts, custom-builds and workshop business. Soon, the legendary Late Nights are added to the summer social calendar at the Bury site with live music and barbecues that attract hundreds of bikes and cars.
The Indian Motorcycle Connection
With this extra space, Krazy Horse are also able to take on the dealership franchises of high-end motorcycles, including Indian Motorcycle, and it isn’t long before Indian Motorcycle Bury St. Edmunds expands into Empire House to fully showcase the American brand’s lineup.
The partnership was a natural fit and, with a shared passion for heritage, performance, and individuality, Krazy Horse became one of the UK’s most successful—and most enthusiastic—Indian Motorcycle dealers.
Indian Motorcycle's storied legacy of American motorcycle engineering aligned perfectly with Krazy Horse’s aesthetic and values. Together, they began rewriting the UK cruiser and performance bike market. Krazy Horse not only sold Indian Motorcycles—they celebrated them, hosting events, customising models, and bringing Indian Motorcycle to a whole new generation of riders.
Beyond Bikes: Building a Lifestyle
With Indian Motorcycle showrooms in Bury St Edmunds, Chipping Norton, South East London, and the flagship Kensington location, today, Krazy Horse has evolved into much more than a dealership. They’ve also built vibrant community spaces, including in-house cafés, live events, and the legendary socials—monthly gatherings that blend music, food, and motorsport energy. It's a place where you can buy a bike, watch a band, drink a coffee, and talk shop with fellow enthusiasts all in one visit.
Conclusion: A Legacy of Rebellion and Craft
The journey of Krazy Horse is a testament to authentic passion. From a shed-based parts supplier to one of the UK’s most influential Indian Motorcycle dealers, their evolution reflects the spirit of motorcycling itself—restless, bold, and always pushing forward. Whether you ride a classic Indian Chief, the latest PowerPlus offerings, or a custom-built dragster, one thing’s certain: Krazy Horse is the real deal.
